Graduate/Junior Operations Executive - Technical

Salary:
£30,000 per year

Hours: 8:30-5:00 Mon-Fri

My client designs, supplies, and instals solar photovoltaic (PV) systems that enable businesses to generate their own electricity, reduce their long-term energy costs, and mitigate their impact on global warming.

In 2020, they commemorated their tenth anniversary. Customers in the commercial, industrial, and agricultural sectors who recognise the short
- and long-term environmental and economic benefits of installing their own solar PV systems are driving a considerable increase in inquiries.


Responsibilities:


You will be responsible for supporting the business's operations, with a particular emphasis on ensuring that our electrical designs adhere to Energy Network Association (ENA) and Distribution Network Operator (DNO) standards.

Supporting and directing process improvement projects and identifying solutions to increase the efficiency of business operations


The role:


To provide technical (electrical) support to the organisation, as well as drive and focus on major company initiatives to ensure on-time delivery.

As needed, provide assistance to all business divisions.


Main tasks:


  • Use PVSol and SolarEdge Designer to create system designs and draw accurate schematics. Liaise with and provide advice to customers and internal stakeholders as required.
  • Build out and become a centre of knowledge for the Energy Network Association (ENA) requirements, and specific Distribution Network Operator (DNO) requirements.
  • Help to identify and drive key company projects that will deliver incremental benefit to the business e.g. Identifying new systems and process improvements, seeking agreement from stakeholders, and successfully delivering these projects.

Key projects likely to include:

  • Process mapping and potentially looking at appropriate process accreditations. Monitoring system project
  • Handover pack process improvement


  • Service development

  • Working with Directors to assess and establish new areas of opportunity for the business to move into.

Induction


As a part of your induction and training, working as a part of our in-house installation team for a period to gain knowledge and experience of working at height and installing commercial solar PV systems.


Requirements -

Must haves:


  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and organise under time pressure.
  • Experience of working with mainstream software packages e.g. MS Office

Ideally but not critical:


  • Electrical engineering experience potentially with a Distribution Network Operator e.g. National Grid, an M&E firm, or a Commercial/Industrial Electrical Engineering firm. (Note
  • For graduates with limited experience, training will be provided)
