About the role

You will be working in this wonderful mixed mainstream school based in Kentish Town, within their dedicated Speech and Language Resource Base.

They are looking for an experienced teacher with experience and a keen interest in teaching students with speech and language needs, this may include stutters and stammers, selective mutism and students who may be non-verbal/have limited verbal abilitiesat a primary age.

All students within the resource base will have an EHCP statement with speech and language difficulties as their primary need.

You will be responsible for planning, preparing and delivering varied and interesting lessons following the NationalCurriculum that make the most of student abilities, as well as carrying out interventions.

You will be supported by Learning Support Assistants in the class as well as a team of Occupational and Speech and Language Therapists.

About the school
This Primary mainstream school for students aged 3-11 years old also has an excellent Language Resource Base onsite. The resource base serves up to 16 students from neighbouring schools who have speech and language difficulties.

It is designed for pupilswho would benefit from a mainstream placement but require additional opportunities to learn in a specialist environment that can be modified to optimise the child's experience.

Children attending the LRB receive regular, specialist support both within thebase and also in their school class. Children will receive support from speech and language therapists, specialist teachers and teaching assistants.

This ensures that children and young people can focus on the curriculum and have additional input to addresstheir specific needs.
