Within Supply Chain you shall be exposed to all aspects of production - from new product development to factory optimisation, dealing with supplier troubles to ensuring outbound supply to some of the world's biggest retailers.

This is not a desk-based role dealing with production in a distant land; you have the opportunity to be hands on with production on a daily basis.

It's a very exciting time within our clients long history - with the development of a new ERP an overhaul within the factory and rapid expansion; they are evolving at an incredible pace.


As a Planner, you will be required to understand our stock levels of both finished goods and raw materials to be successful.

You will have to be able to understand trends and seasonality to build-up and run-down stocks where required and to see opportunities within the factory to improve efficiencies.

A methodical, problem-solving mentality is essential; you will have to deal with issues on a daily basis.

We are looking for someone with drive and passion, who can communicate with all levels of the business in the correct manner.

Reporting to the Planning Manager you will have the support to learn all the required processes and can be an excellent starting role for a recent graduate.

  • To plan and execute the manufacturing and purchasing requirements at the Middlewich site, Manufacturing Paint and Glue for the Education Market.
  • To monitor, analyse and manipulate the ERP system to understand usage trends and assess future demands.
  • To understand the limitations, strengths and weaknesses of each production area to plan efficiently.
  • To translate the needs of the production plan using MRP into raw material requirements.
  • To place and chase purchase orders for raw materials and consumables.
  • To build strong businessrelationships with suppliers and other external entities.
  • To give constant reliable feedback to the customer service team about product availability.
  • To work closely with the rest of the supply chain and marketing to understand market trends and upcoming changes.
  • To work closely with marketing on new product development.
  • Other administrative tasks.

The necessary requirements for the role:

  • Proactive and team player with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Rigorous organisation skills
  • Advanced Excel skills essential
  • An Engineering, Mathematical or Scientific background.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience and SAP experience would be highly beneficial
  • Not deterred by barriers, be positive and look for solutions

£32,000.00 per year
