Employability Training Officer

Young Person's Consortium

35 Hours per week

Primary Job Purpose

The role of Employment Training Officer is to support young people living in Dundee, who have barriers to help them progress towards sustainable employment.

The post holder will work with a caseload of participants. Using Trauma Informed practises helping them to profile their skills and jointly planning and agreeing activity with them that will enable them to achieve their work goals and become independent, active members of their community, progressing into sustained employment, further education, and training.

The post holder willwork closely with strategic partners, including employers, funders, and other stakeholders, developing professional relationships that will offer a diverse range of experiences and opportunities to meet the aims of the project.

You will be based and work from our training centre at Ward Road in Dundee and will be expected to deliver outreach services in various communities throughout the city as required.

A key responsibility for this role will require developing effective working relationships with employers, ensuring strong links are made to identify suitable opportunities and, to provide in work support to participants to ensure employment opportunities are sustained.

A driver's licence and access to a car is required for this role

Main Duties and Accountabilities

Providing high quality support

  • Regular and accurate profiling of skills and recording of participant activity
  • Active case management to ensure personcentred success
  • Delivering support with fidelity to the individual project model
  • Delivery of structured training to individuals and groups of participants
  • Maintaining positive relationships with participants
  • Managing professional relationships with stakeholders and employers to create opportunities for participants

Delivering high quality support:


  • Keeping accurate and uptodate records ready for audit
  • Recording and gathering project information in line with project timescales and work plan
  • Handling and storing project information in line with DEAP LIMITED data protection policy
  • Reporting accurately on project activity when requested and in line with project timescales

Meeting performance expectations

  • Active case management to ensure participants are achieving success
  • Meeting and exceeding individual project expectations
  • Innovating and collaborating across your team to support DEAP LIMITED's performance

Contribution to strategy

  • Sharing best practice and opportunities with DEAP LIMITED's colleagues and partners
  • Positive and flexible response to changes in work plans
  • Collaborative approach to team and departmental delivery
  • Managing your time/caseload efficiently in order to respond to additional duties as required
  • Representing DEAP LIMITED with an understanding of departmental and organisational strategies

Salary:
£25,145.00 per year


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)


Experience:

- supporting employed clients: 1 year (preferred)
Support Worker: 1 year (preferred)


Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
