Within the role as the Accounts Assistant, you will support Abbots care's finance department with their day to day functions, by carrying accounting duties and performing administrative and clerical duties.

The role

Accounts receivable:

  • Invoice processing and uploading onto QuickBooks, sending them to the relevant customers
  • Credit control: chasing unpaid invoices, sending out statements
  • Taking payments over the phone
  • Responding to invoice queries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Basic administration

Accounts payable:

  • Checking and uploading all supplier invoices onto Receipt Bank
  • Organising supplier payment run
  • Dealing with supplier queries

Person Specification:


  • At least 2 years previous experience working as part of an accounting of financial team in an office environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in order to deal with customers
  • Ability to work as a part of a team
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Proficiency with accounting software, such as QuickBooks preferable although training will be provided
