Description
James Fisher Medical Centre is a busy General Practice located in a residential area of Bournemouth.

We provide primary care services to our 12,500 patient population and employ over 50 team members, both clinical and administrative.


Job Summary


To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of administrative duties which include ensuring all information is managed correctly, filed and followed up accordingly, prescriptions, incoming calls from patients, electronic workflow and data entries.


To act as the focal point of contact and be responsible for the dissemination of information, messages and enquiries for the medical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members, other health professionals and staff within the practice.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensure that repeat prescriptions are done accurately and efficiently following protocol.
  • Deal with GP Links including the amendment and deduction of patients records.
  • Monitor incoming electronic test results to ensure prompt review by clinicians.
  • Scan all patient information in computerised record i.e. medical documents, hospital reports and letters as necessary.
  • Photocopy documents as required.
  • Reviewing medical records of new patients, inputting and summarising medical history.
  • Read coding medical data into clinical system and computerised medical record of patient.
  • Set up and run clinical searches.
  • Interrogate data for audit purposes.
  • To provide and maintain information required for targets.
  • Take part in practice performance related to recalls for patients. This will include maintaining up to date registers and ensuring all patients who require a review are contacted and offered a review.
  • Provision of refreshments for staff and visitors as required; loading and emptying the dishwasher and keeping the kitchen area clean and tidy.
  • Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by the Doctors, Practice Manager or your Line Manager.

Experience

  • Experience of working with the general public
  • Experience of administrative duties
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting (Desirable)
  • Must be an excellent communicator both spoken and written, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Clear, polite telephone manner
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to plan and organize workload
  • Strong IT skills, competent in the use of Office and Outlook
  • SystmOne/EMIS/Vision or other clinical system, user skills (Desirable)
  • Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
  • Problem solving skills, with the ability to resolve patient complaints or issues effectively
  • Ability to follow policy and procedure.

Working Pattern
This is a part time position working across 3 or 4 days, which must include a Thursday and Friday.

Will be held during week commencing 6 May 2024.


Job Types:

Pay:
£11.44 per hour


Expected hours:
No less than 18 per week
