We are looking for motivated Skilled Operatives of different experience levels to join us at NY Highways to work across the county.
We have 7 depots across the county, in Richmond, Thirsk, Whitby, Kirby Misperton, Selby, Skipton and Boroughbridge and you will be required to work at one of these depots depending on the location of the project.
This role is varied, and you will have the opportunity to be involved in maintenance projects and will undertake a wide range of routine and cyclical highway maintenance activities including kerbing, concrete work, paving and slabbing, laying asphalt, iron work, boundary fence repair and maintenance, sign erecting and vegetation works.
Working as part of a team, you will carry out all work to the highest standard whilst following Safety, Health and Environmental policies and risk assessments.
You will have good communication skills to work effectively with your NY Highways employees as well as being able to work within set timeframes but be flexible in your working approach - some out of hours working is essential.
This is a role where you will be physically active and will be working outdoors in all weathers from hot summers to cold winters.

- Confined Spaces
- Reinstatement of both footway & carriageway
- Banksman
- Manual Handling
- Abrasive Wheel
- Emergency First Aid
- Safe Dig
- Valid Driving Licence and Class 2 licence is an advantage
- NRSWA
- Relevant TM 12D
- Excavators' tickets and experience
- Dumper and Banksmen tickets
- Drainage installation tickets and experience
- Resurfacing
- Kerbing experience
- NRSWA
- CPCS and or NPORS qualifications
