Role and Responsibilities As our Sales Assistant your role will be as part of our sales team in a successful independent retail store. You will be required to lift pram and furniture boxes being delivered or collected.

Duties may vary but will typically include:

Sales

  • To be friendly and approachable with an aim to help make customers feel comfortable and relaxed throughout their Retail experience.
  • Assess the customer's needs and requirements, providing customers with specific information about our products and creating desire and rapport.
  • To excite customers about purchasing from our store whilst promoting the benefits and unique selling points of our products.
  • To support, aid and assist in all areas of customer handling, problem solving and delivery of excellent customer service.

Customer Service

  • Meeting and greeting customers and visitors to the store in a professional and friendly manner.
  • To receive all incoming telephone calls for the store in accordance with company policy.
  • To deal with customer requirements in an efficient and courteous manner to achieve a high standard of customer satisfaction.
  • To ensure highest standards of personal appearance, housekeeping and shopfloor merchandising is maintained.
  • To promote excellent customer service to help grow the image and reputation of the store.
  • To keep our shopfloor and warehouse tidy and well presented at all times.

Skills required:
As our sales assistant you will need to demonstrate:

  • Confidence and an outgoing personality
  • A smart and professional appearance and manner
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good level of numeracy
  • Ability to build and maintain good customer relationships
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge to customers (car seat safety, pram mechanics)
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Higher standard or equivalent education.

Personal qualities:


  • Show initiative and be Enthusiastic
  • Positive attitude and Good sense of humour
Part-time hours: 20 hours per week


Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent


Salary:
£10.42 per hour
