We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced environmental health or housing standards professional to join our busy and dedicated Private Sector Housing Team on a part time, permanent basis.

Working within our small but busy team, in this role you'll be responsible for improving housing standards across the Borough by working pro-actively and providing advice and guidance, undertaking detailed property inspections, and taking appropriate enforcement action using a wide range of relevant legislation.

You will also deal with other aspects of the private sector housing service including licensing of Houses in Multiple Occupation, Caravan Sites licensing, bringing empty properties back into use, as well as working to achieve improvements in energy efficiency and works covered under our financial assistance policy including Disabled Facilities Grants.

Test Valley Borough Council spans two market towns (Andover and Romsey), as well as beautiful villages and miles of stunning countryside.

We offer successful applicants a competitive salary, a great place to work with enthusiastic and supportive colleagues.

As well as this, we actively promote a good work/life balance including flexible working hours and some home working opportunities, encourage continuous learning and development and have a wellbeing programme of events designed to support employee wellbeing.
