Salary:
The starting salary is £37,289, which includes allowances totalling £2,841.


The salary is broken down as £34,448 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £36,864 Plus, a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

The Metropolitan PNC Bureau is primarily responsible for maintaining, updating and reviewing all information on the police national computer relevant to the Metropolitan Police District Area within set time constraints imposed by National PNC Policy and Legislation.

The PNC Bureau is a naturally fast-paced and dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.

We are looking for a flexible, motivated person with strong customer service skills, to work closely with all our key stakeholders, both internal and external to build and sustain effective business relationships in order to improve working practices for both parties.


The Business Engagement Lead will provide operational support on current processes and support business operations and management in identifying opportunities and solutions to meet current and future business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Your core duties will include:

  • Identify all existing PNCB customers/stakeholders within MPS and Nationally
  • Generate and maintain contact indices.
  • Become the Single Point of Contact for existing business by engaging with existing customers.
  • Oversee, action and respond to various mailbox requests and enquiries promptly.
  • Ensure all telephone enquiries are dealt with expediently.
  • Identify, establish and help develop new business ventures/income opportunities.
  • Manage customer meeting diary, generate agenda, document and set actions including circulation and updates.
  • Design and develop a marketing strategy for existing and potential new business.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators.
  • Ensure compliance with Data Protection Rules, National PNC guidelines and Metropolitan Police PNC Bureau policies and guidelines.
  • Attend and represent Business Engagement at Met PNC Bureau meetings / panels held within the organisation where necessary.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the pursuit of service excellence.
  • Create a Business Engagement framework to assist with identifying challenges, opportunities and feedback.
  • Establish clear cell objectives and priorities for best practice.
  • Identify and engage with relevant Subject Matter Experts
  • Potential travel expectations

  • Experience and understanding of Met IT systems, Outlook, Word, Excel

Desirable criteria

  • Proven research and analytical skills.
  • An understanding of stakeholder mapping and its benefits.
  • Business and Office Management experience
  • A proven track record in staff management and development
  • Indepth knowledge of PNC, Bichard 7, Libra and Xhibit and other intelligence and crime management systems relevant to PNC Bureau work. (If not training will be provided.)
