We are looking for a dynamic and experienced pharmacy leader to lead our clinical pharmacy service and join our strategic leadership team.

You will have a clear vision for the service; extensive knowledge and experience of a range of clinical pharmacy specialties; and a proven track record of leading a team and transforming services.

As a member of the strategic pharmacy leadership team, you will be responsible for the provision and further development of a high-quality clinical pharmacy service and for the education and training of our pharmacy workforce, across 3 hospital sites and community services within Wolverhampton.

The Trust has a vertically integrated model with Primary Care which enables collaborative working across our pharmacy teams with a strong focus on patient-centered care, medicines optimisation, and innovative opportunities for flexible, cross sector and portfolio ways of working.

Be an effective member of the Pharmacy Strategic Leadership Team and support the Clinical Director of Pharmacy in the delivery and further development of the Trust Pharmacy Service and Medicines Optimisation Strategic Plan.


Lead Clinical Pharmacy Services across the Trust acting as an expert and role model in clinical pharmacy service provision and medicines optimisation.


Be accountable for the safe and effective delivery, and on-going development, of a high-quality evidence-based Clinical Pharmacy Service across hospital sites and community services.

Identify risks and gaps within Clinical Pharmacy Services and develop and implement plans to address these.

Measure, monitor and optimise the performance of Clinical Pharmacy Services.

This will include the development of key performance indicators, reports and interactive dashboards from the Trust ePMA and Pharmacy systems.


Be responsible for workforce planning and development within Clinical Pharmacy Services, including the development of Consultant Pharmacist and Advanced Clinical Practice posts.


Work across the Integrated Care System and region on collaborative clinical pharmacy and medicines optimisation projects, and represent the Trust at relevant system, regional and national meetings, and networks.

Line manage Principal and Senior Pharmacists within Clinical Pharmacy Services.

Deputise for the Clinical Director of Pharmacy as required and to act as a designated deputy in their absence.
