Description

Maintenance Engineer required on a temporary basis, working full time hours Monday to Friday. Role could become permanent.

You will be dealing with both mechanical and repairs on all machinery and ancillary equipment to minimise any production delay.

Basedin Southend on Sea, Essex

As a Maintenance Engineer you will implement planned maintenance schedules for key equipment. Repair and maintain the buildings and services to the necessary levels of both safety and hygiene.

To assist management in the implementation and maintenance ofquality systems such as BRCGS To ensure the company complies with all areas of the Health and Safety at Work Legislation.

As a Maintenance Engineer you will work alongside the electro-mechanical engineer, Engineering Assistant and any contract engineers on site.

Main Duties and accountabilities

Make regular checks on machinery and equipment according to planned schedules.
Carry out regular maintenance work such as oiling and cleaning.
Operate grinding and cutting machinery.
Check and calibrate instruments etc. and replace worn parts as necessary.
Diagnose faults and carry out remedial action prioritising for minimum disruption.
Ensure essential equipment, tools and parts are available by effective ordering and/or sourcing.
To carry out and implement risk assessments.
To act as Fire Marshall

Education/Qualifications
Apprenticeship or equivalent in a relevant engineering skill.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

Ability to work on own initiative and to prioritise effectively
Good understanding of technical diagrams and manuals
Good communication skills
Basic computer skills in both Microsoft Word and Excel
An understanding of the principles and workings of pneumatics, hydraulics, DC motors and control systems.

£15.50-£16.50 per hour.
