School Holidays Activity Camps and Weekend events | Sports Coach


The role of a Sports coach is to ensure the welfare and safety of the children during school and to deliver outstanding, structured, fun and engaging activities leaving all children with a Super Sports Experience.

You will be expected to deliver a mixture of high quality structured games, sports and activities to children aged 4yr to 14yrs old.

As well as leading sessions, coaches are to contribute to the high standard of physical, emotional and social care.


Duties and responsibilities:

  • Must hold a reliable and passionate work ethic.
  • Prepare and deliver activities for children 4 to 14yrs old focusing on participation, development and enjoyment working both alone and alongside our strong team of experienced staff.
  • Be welcoming to all new participants and returning children, whilst liaising to camp coordinator and parents throughout the day of children.
  • Supervise and engage with the children outside of the activity times.
  • Continuously promote the welfare of the children in your care.
  • Show high levels of energy, enthusiasm and professionalism, acting as a suitable role model for the children.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures on camp are adhered to by yourself and the children in your care, including all health and safety and safeguarding procedures.
  • Live up to the SSE way "Super Sport Experience" and behave in the manner that reflects the expectations of the company throughout your employment.
  • Hold good level of life skills for other adhoc duties such as cleaning, equipment maintenance etc).

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children and delivering activities.
  • Current DBS / Update Service number
  • A flexible team player, able to adapt to dynamic situations and challenges on camp.
  • Be enthusiastic, energetic and passionate about developing children through play and activity.
  • Able to change and tailor delivery of structure of a session according to age and ability.
  • Holds a level 2 NGB or qualified or working towards a relevant sport, art, performing art, teaching or childcare qualification.

Desirable:

  • Experience taking sole charge of a group of children.
  • Meets standard minimum operations qualifications (First Aid at work, Paediatric First aid 12 / 6 hour)

Job Types:
Part-time, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract, Freelance, Zero hours contract


Salary:
£10.90-£25.00 per hour

Experience:


  • Sports coaching: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • DBS / update service (preferred)
  • Level 1 / 2 coaching qualification (preferred)
  • Driving Licence (preferred)
