Full time, 35 hours, permanent


Purpose
-
"Hearing Dogs for Deaf People trains dogs that change deaf people's lives through emotional and practical support - because nobody with hearing loss should feel alone."_

  • Provide guidance and training to support partnerships between people with hearing loss and their hearing dog
  • Provide and facilitate community events for people with hearing loss, and hearing dog partners
  • Provide advice and signposting so people can get the help they need

Headline tasks

  • Support hearing dog partners with remote contact, home and workplace visits, and accompanying them to public places
  • Continually assess the training and behaviour standards of hearing dogs and work through training plans with hearing dog partners
  • Work with external contacts such as carers, social workers, workplaces and more to support hearing dog partners
  • Provide community events that bring people together to talk about hearing loss, and support the community of hearing dog partners
  • Through community activity, raise awareness of hearing loss and reach people who our full range of Hearing Link Services can benefit
  • Develop trusting relationships that allow us to learn about people's needs, and refer them to services that can help
  • Help to resolve access issues for hearing dog's accompanying their partner to public places
