Job purpose and requirements
You will be a successful educator with a strong sense of integrity and a values-driven approach to education.

You will have a proven record of demonstrating the impact of your teaching and will be a strong team player with a passion for the mission of the National Holocaust Centre and Museum.

You will understand the value of Holocaust education across - and beyond - the curriculum.

You will understand the importance of developing students' historical knowledge of this period of history in order to link to the present, and to foster students' critical thinking skills.


The Senior Educator will join a team of five Senior Educators and eight part-time educators covering primary, secondary and post-16 education.

The main responsibility of the role will be to deliver our education programmes on site and, occasionally, in students' schools.

The Senior Educator will also contribute to the development of the learning programmes.


With clearly developed plans for future on-site and off-site development, this position is an outstanding opportunity for a proven educator to play a key role in a unique institution, supported by a strong and successful team_.

The post holder will work closely with the Schools Programmes Lead to deliver against the organisation's priorities across the following key areas.


Programme development

  • Develop new programmes, resources and teaching materials for primary schools, secondary schools and post16 providers
  • Analyse evaluation data and contribute to the identification of trends that will inform future modifications to the learning programmes.

Programme delivery

  • Deliver outstanding learning programmes to primary schools, secondary schools and post16 providers, both on site and in school
  • Deliver educational programmes associated with grant funded projects as and when required.

Professional development

  • Maintain an uptodate knowledge about the Holocaust and about the development and delivery of Holocaust education
  • Maintain an uptodate knowledge about the latest thinking in highquality pedagogical techniques
  • Develop an understanding of the needs of our stakeholders (principally participating schools)

Relationship development and team work

  • Work with colleagues across the organization, such as the Curatorial and Bookings teams, to ensure our schools programmes are creative and highquality
  • Contribute as required to projects requiring collective effort across the organisation
  • Contribute to the development of measures that deliver good 'audience' care and that the people and organisations receive the best possible learner experience.

Other

  • Ensure that all professional codes of practice and legislative requirements are adhered to in programme delivery e.g. safeguarding children, health and safety.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties to support the work of the Centre.
  • Champion the aims, heritage and professional integrity of the organisation both internally and externally.
  • Comply with corporate policy and procedures at all times.
