Location:
Hybrid - Peterborough, UK with two days per week in the office. The office is open all week if people would like to be office based.

  • Are you working in a customer service or administration role and looking for a change of career? Are you wanting to work with a manager and team that will support your development, including qualification support if wanted? If so this could be the ideal role for you. In this newly created role you'll work with teams across the business that are involved in the purchase and sale of raw materials. We think this position would be an ideal first role for someone who would like to grow into a future commercial or procurement professional. As long as you have an interest in the business, what we do and why we do it then we can train you in the skills required to be an Assistant Buyer. What's really important to us is that you're selfmotivated, a team player, have great customer service skills, take pride in what you do and are a great communicator.

What you'll be doing:


  • Providing administration assistance with the buying processes that we go through.
  • Producing timely and accurate pricing and feed sales quotations for the commercial function and acting as the go to link between the commercial and procurement teams.
  • Working with buyers to generate and issue daily sales prices and maintain the ventral pricing database.
  • Processing sales contracts and inputting data into our ERP / database system.
  • Using Excel to produce reports and export data from systems. This will include creating pivot tables, formulas and similar.
  • Supporting our business Sustainability goals by producing green palm and soya reporting.
  • Building and developing your knowledge of what we do and why we do it.

What we're looking for:


  • Experience using the Microsoft Office package including word, outlook and excel.
  • Experience in a customer service or administration role where you have had to provide quotes/data and build great rapport with customers.
  • Demonstrating a genuine interest in what AB Agri and ABN do.
