  • Provide evidence based psychological therapy, making autonomous clinical decisions about own professional practice.
  • Provide clinical supervision, consultation and advice on psychological therapies and psychological elements of care.
  • Assist the Team Manager/Clinical Lead with operational duties and service development, including research and development activities.


The Primary Care Wellbeing Service (PCWBS) is an award-winning specialist Service offering two pathways: Persistent Physical Symptoms (PPS) and Long Covid for staff.

The PCWBS is a psychology led MDT based on a biopsychosocial understanding of the patient's presentation. We work closely with GP's; Consultants and other agencies involved in the patient's care. We specialize in working with long term conditions and integrating physical and mental health care.

We currently provide MDT interventions as part of three pathways: Standard PPS, Intensive Therapy PPS and COVID-19 Rehab.


The successful post holder will ideally have experience of working with people who present with a range of complex physical health difficulties with a passion with understanding the impact and links with past trauma.

The postholder will be part of a wider psychology team offering assessment consultation and formulation informed interventions/ treatments for people with a full range of complex physical /psychological health problems from diverse backgrounds.

The post holder will be part of exciting developments and receive robust supervision from the Professional and Clinical Lead of Medical Psychology.
