Training Officer - London, United Kingdom - RSPCA
Description
Are you a strong influencer, particularly through periods of change? Do you have extensive knowledge of Animal Welfare Science? We have an incredibly exciting brand new role to embed the concept of the "Animal Voice" in the RSPCA, working collaboratively with the Learning & Development lead to design and deliver a training programme across the organisation.
Animal Voice:
The work of the RSPCA requires that team members across the organisation have good knowledge and understanding of contemporary animal welfare, at an appropriate level for their particular role in the organisation.
The RSPCA Companion Animal and Veterinary teams have recently developed a new way of looking at animal welfare across the organisation, based on the five domains model, called "Animal Voice".
We are looking to hold virtual interviews on the 27th & 28th November, which will also include undertaking a brief presentation details of which will be confirmed if you are successful.
Whats involved?
- Working closely with the Learning and Development (L & D) team, conduct a training needs analysis. Based on the findings of this analysis you then will work with them and other colleagues from the veterinary, science and L&D teams to design and pilot welfare training for different audiences in the Society, ensuring that they have the appropriate, species specific knowledge needed for the roles.
- Development of appropriate, evidence based, species specific animal welfare training for the organisation, working alongside our welfare experts and our L & D team. Identifying knowledge gaps in training provision and developing content to fill those gaps
- Reviewing, collating and updating of current welfare training resources to ensure that the content is consistent and up to date with current welfare knowledge and at a level appropriate for the needs of different colleagues
- Supporting other leaders and managers in the organisation so that they are able to appropriately cascade welfare knowledge and understanding. Piloting of different methods of training and ensuring that appropriate feedback mechanisms are in place to enable continuous improvement.
- Some travel will be required to our offices and to visit other sites and centres.
- Extensive knowledge of animal welfare science
- Postgraduate qualification/s in animal welfare or a closely related discipline
- Up to date speciesspecific knowledge (dogs, cats and rabbits)
- Experience in development and delivery of training
