Grafton Banks Finance are currently working with a locally well established Property company with offices in Brighton to recruit an Accounts Lead Property Manager.

Working full time hours reporting into the Business Directors you will be responsible formanaging the companies Accounts and Finance team.


Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Overall management of income and expenditure across the property portfolio, taking responsibility for full reconciliation of monies at all times.
  • Overall responsibility for the preparation of annual accounting packs for review by external auditors, including profit and loss, balance sheets prepared to statutory format.
  • Ensure full compliance of year end accounts in accordance with the 18 month rule.
  • Liaise and manage 3rd party accountant/auditor relationships accordingly.
  • Facilitating the process of expenditure budgets (set by the property team) for properties with periodic review and monitoring against actual expenditure.
  • Periodic reporting to freehold clients including review calls, monthly reports and analysis and meetings.
  • Overseeing a team of 4 property accounts staff. Including heading the department, leading the team, improving team members, managing appraisals, performance of team members, training, leading, guiding and developing team members. Task allocation and rolesand responsibilities across the department. Ensuring pathway, development and growth for team members,
  • Supervising the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Supervising client bank account reconciliations. Including the authorisation of payments using online banking systems.
  • Updating data and financials resulting from lease extensions, legal completion, changes in tenancy, changes in client entity and liaising with internal legal completion team.
  • Supervise credit control and cash collection processes, progressing to referral packs and subsequent liaison and collaboration with external litigation lawyers regarding arrears recovery.
  • Support the businesses outsourced finance team on day to day accounting, including VAT, payroll, and audit queries as the main point of contact for external auditors.
  • Oversee, action and account for companies' fees, with regards to billing, collection and reporting.
  • Drive improvements via suggestions, innovation and opportunities in finance systems and processes.
  • Build strong relationships with property management and surveying departments and provide full collaborative support to the Managing Director.
