Job description


As alternative education providers, Aspire Life Sports' approach to working with young people fosters positive mindset, resilience, diligence, and the skills needed for making meaningful life choices.

All one-to-one sessions engage with a diverse range of sporting and physical activities, spanning from leisurely walks to go-karting.

These activities serve as tangible goals for our students, providing them with focus and motivation within the broader scope of our provision.

"Changing lives through the power of sport". In addition, Aspire Life Sports offers a range of services such as holiday clubs, extra-curricular sports, birthday parties and in-school teaching assistance.


JOB PURPOSE

  • To develop personalised plans for academic, emotional, and physical growth, tailored to the needs, interests and abilities of each child.
  • To support identified student needs (e.g. as detailed in EHCPs and Risk assessments).
  • To plan, manage and deliver structured and engaging onetoone mentoring sessions.
  • To encourage sports skills development, teamwork and sportsmanship.
  • To assist students with schoolwork or alternative learning (e.g. AQA courses).
  • To communicate with children, parents, carers and schools about planning, conduct, performance and progression.
  • To continually monitor and evaluate the progress of each child, adjusting support strategies as needed to optimise learning and development outcomes.
  • To complete relevant documentation and reporting, including but not limited to, session reports (known as ITPs), annual reports, risk assessments, expenses, timesheets etc.
  • To adhere to all company policies and procedures, prioritising child safeguarding.
  • To serve as a positive role model for children and young people, demonstrating values of respect, integrity, and empathy both on and off the field.
  • To build relationships where students feel safe to express themselves openly without judgment, take risks, and learn from both successes and setbacks.
  • To plan, manage and deliver engaging group activities at holiday, lunch, afterschool clubs or private events such as birthday parties.
  • To serve as a teaching assistant or teacher, in physical education or in the classroom.
  • To take ownership of personal growth through proactive engagement in selfdevelopment and training opportunities.
  • To carry out such duties and responsibilities as may be determined by the Company from time to time, commensurate with the position.

Sports Coach & Mentor

The role will be split between schools in Poole & Bournemouth


As part of your role within our coaching team you will be required to carry out the following duties:

  • Delivery of initially around 18-25 hours per week of Sports Coaching in Primary schools and Behavioural schools. This will also include extra-curricular activities.
  • Run our Holiday clubs across Dorset and Hampshire

To be considered for this position you must meet the minimum criteria below, and have the following:

  • PESS Level 5 and/or PESS Level 3 or Coaching Degree
  • Clean and indate DBS
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Valid Child protection/Safeguarding certificate
  • Experience working in a school/coaching environment.
  • Have access to your own transport.
