Primary Eyecare Services (PES) has been established to provide high quality outcomes in community optometry services.


Role Purpose:


We are at an exciting time in the development of our company and now want to expand the Quality Team within the Professional Services Directorate.

The person appointed will support the Quality, Failsafe & Compliance Teams with a variety of responsibilities to support patient safety and continual improvement plans across the organisation.

This role will include regular internal department quality review including risk assessment and recommendations for risk mitigation, the creation and regular update of department standard operating procedures and incident management.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement quality improvement plans and initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and presentations relating to quality related metrics and outcomes.
  • Manage all complaints received to Primary Eyecare Services, liaising with the appropriate internal and external teams to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Investigation, reporting and analysis of patient safety incidents ensuring the organisation adheres to PSIRF (patient safety incident response framework) policy whilst facilitating root cause analysis.
  • Collaboration with clinical and nonclinical teams to identify and mitigate patient safety risk.
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures to ensure alignment with quality standards and best practice.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Foster a culture of quality and patient safety throughout the organisation.
The role will be home based with the expectation of regular meeting attendance Primary Eyecare Services Head Office (Manchester M4 6LN)


Person Specification:


  • Evidence of Safety Investigation Training (Desirable)
  • Engaging patients / families after adverse outcomes (Desirable)
  • Experience within quality assurance or improvement role.
  • Experience in complaints investigation and management.
  • NHS / Healthcare background (Desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills including presenting findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Technology proficiency.
  • The ability to produce risk assessments and make risk management recommendations across multifunctional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify areas for improvement.
  • High level of organisation skill with knowledge of multiple project management.
  • Confident in providing training and education to teams on quality improvement principles and practices (Desirable)
