We are currently looking for an experienced
Risk Communications Lead to join our
Communications and Engagement group. This is a
full-
time opportunity, on a
permanent basis.

The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU.

Please note that there might also be a requirement to travel to South Mimms, Herts or other locations as appropriate_._ Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.

We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 4 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business.

Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 8 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office.

Some roles will need to be on site more regularly. Remote working is potentially available for some specific roles. Please discuss this with the recruiting manager before accepting an appointment.

Our focus is to support the Agency to deliver its business outcomes by putting patients and the public at the centre of all our work.


We are organised in the following teams:
News & Media, Communications, Patient and Public Stakeholder Engagement and Customer Experience. This role is in our Communications team.


What's the role?


The post holder will lead in issuing risk communication at pace and to a high standard through numerous channels and write and adapt these communications in a way that is understood by the target audience.

You will also maintain and nurture key internal and external stakeholder relationships to enable partnerships working to deliver business priorities.


Key responsibilities:


  • Reactively and proactively communicate key public safety issues to the public and healthcare professionals and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate risk communications in response to emerging and established safety issues
  • Develop content to explain risks and benefits, creating key messages to prompt desired behaviour change


Work with the Head of Risk Communications and the Risk Communications Specialist to deliver key public health strategies and messages.
