Learning Support Practitioner

Location - Minehead

Package - Up to £26,582 FTE (term time only role so pro rata down)

Role overview:
As a Learning Support Practitioner (LSP), you will play a crucial role in assisting students within the residential houses.

Your mission is to contribute to the development of essential life and hospitality skills, enabling young adults to thrive in the workforce and live independently.


Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain high expectations for all students, consistently challenging and supporting their growth.
  • Work collaboratively with House Team Leaders/Tutors to support students in their learning journey.
  • Professionally manage and support student behavior, seeking guidance when necessary.
  • Foster positive relationships with session tutors to enhance student success.
  • Implement strategies for students' broader skills development, including communication, selfadvocacy, presentation skills, and teamwork.
  • Provide 1:1 support to students as directed by House Team Leaders, monitoring personal management and independent skills.
  • Background in supporting in the care or education industry
  • Understanding of working with people with disabilities (desirable)
  • Desirable Level 3 qualification in education or care
  • Ability to work on a rota pattern, including every other weekend
