Purchasing Assistant/Administrator

Woking
**£25k-£30k per annum

  • Permanent Role**Purchasing Assistant/Administrator urgently required for a leading manufacturing company based in Woking. We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Assistant to support the Purchasing Manager in the purchasing of all components, complete assemblies and spare parts to enable the range of products to be manufactured and/or supplied to customers.
We are looking for an individual who is organised and structured and works well with process.

The team are extremely busy and work with client all over the globe so the ability to adapt and work at pace is also required.


This is a Permanent Role. The company is family owned and expanding business that has doubled in headcount in the past 12 months due to unprecedented orders, resulting in a solid order book for the next 2- 3 years. Purchasing Assistant/Administrator may carry out tasks such as.

  • Assist the Purchasing Manager with the overall planning and organising of the purchase of materials and outside subcontract work.
  • Create Purchase Orders and reconcile with supplier invoices
  • Processing supplier invoices and entering onto MRP system
  • Resolution of supplier queries and any associated payment queries
  • Enter information onto the MRP system and facilitate the smooth running of the MRP system.
  • Create works orders and assist the Purchasing Team Leader with requirements for material purchases.
  • Expedite all purchase orders and log delivery information.

You will also be a key part of the team to Report and liaise with Supply Chain Manager regarding:

  • Work schedule (projects / orders / priorities)
  • Progress on orders with expected delivery dates
  • Material shortages effecting due dates of deliveries
  • Due dates for deliveries of finished product
  • Specific technical issues with each project/product
  • Quality issues relating to supplier performance
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to use IT systems (including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Process driven
  • Strong organisation and planning skills
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
