Role Description:

Research Assistant or Research Fellow in River Restoration

We are looking for an experienced individual to help design and deliver a decision support software for assessing pressures and impacts on river ecology, that will be used by non-specialists across the UK for river restoration.

About the Role
Depending on qualification and experience, you will be employed as either a Research Assistant or Research Fellow. Research Fellows will be expected to perform most tasks independently with mínimal supervision.

About You

You will have a relevant postgraduate qualification (such as physical geography, geomorphology, ecology, statistics or similar) and a good understanding of river ecology, morphology, pressures and impacts.

You will have experience of statistical modelling of large datasets as well as some programming skills.

You will have the ability to write complex technical and/or scientific reports as well as simple non-technical summaries and guidance tailored to a specific audience or for broad appeal.

You will be able to quickly integrate into a small busy team of highly motivated individuals sharing common purpose and values: understanding river form and function, restoring natural processes, communicating evidence-based knowledge and sharing best practice.
