The Opportunity


We've got a strong (and tasty) product range that our consumers love, and our Commercial Intern is vital in supporting the business interface and performance relationship with our grocery retail customers.

Working with the Commercial, Revenue Growth Management and Category Management Teams to ensure that all administration and internal documentation is up to date and maintained.

Aligning timetables of activity and coordinating cross functional events.

You'll get the flex to spend 2 days a week working from home and 3 days in our swish office in the heart of Liverpool docks.


Your Day-to-Day Activities
Obviously, we can't list everything you'll do, but these are the main activities of this role. We'll coach and support the right person to fill in the gap.

  • Develop a breadth and depth of value adding, cross functional relationships internally across key functions including Commercial / Revenue Growth Management (RGM) / Category / Finance / Marketing / Supply Chain that support the Senior National Account Manager/National Account Manager in executing our business strategy and driving an improving relationship agenda with the customer
  • Support the development, execution and tracking the delivery of a joint annual business plan with the customer that underpins the Sales and Brand strategy achievement within that Customer
  • Manage, Track and Report promotional submissions on both Internal PEP process and External customer databases
- "Bring the Outside In" - proactively identify and share observations, news etc with the marketing and sales team, including maintaining trackers, as relevant. Sources include industry news articles, John West and competitor activity in store and online, promotional activity, relevant social media posts, marketing campaigns, space changes in store etc

  • Responsible for the accurate preparation, maintenance, and circulation of weekly and monthly reports including but not limited to market data tables, category monthly report, price trackers and category/ brand dashboard
  • Support the RGM team in generating, maintaining & refreshing RGM tools as well as providing analytical support across areas including promotional optimisation, trade investment management & pricing strategy
  • Always operate to the very highest standards of administration and within the framework of brand, commercial, legal and financial guidelines and policies
  • Support the Commercial Manager in key business Project, such as Health and Safety and Commercial Team Engagement.
  • Take reasonable care for own health and safety and that of fellow CREW.
