Our Help, Advice and Services Directorate aims to make a positive impact by alleviating the issues people face, by offering appropriate financial support.

As a
Grants and Support Officer, you will be managing casework as part of a team of supportive colleagues and making decisions on financial assistance, as well as advising on basic budgeting, and signposting to our Money Advice Service or other organisations if necessary.

To be successful in this role, you will be an excellent communicator in writing, on the phone and using digital media.

You will be confident in handling difficult conversations with applicants and vulnerable people. You will also have knowledge of benefit entitlements and an understanding of basic budgeting.

With previous experience of casework, you will be able to identify key issues from complex information and explore underlying issues.

The Charity supports hybrid working.

In this role, you will need to commit to working from our Head Office in Cheam, Surrey, a minimum of three days per week during your four-month probation period, where you will receive structured training for the role.

The remainder of the week may be worked from the office or from home, depending on your preference. After probation, you will be working from the office at least one day per week.
