We have an excellent opportunity for a data driven, systematic thinker who is experienced in change management and building organisational capability to join our HR systems team leading on our organisational structures on Workday.


You'll be instrumental in supporting the Department, ensuring that our HR system holds robust, accurate organisational data which in turn will feed other Corporate Services systems for cost forecasting and workforce planning purposes.

You will be recognised as the expert in position management / organisational structures providing expert advice and guidance to a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation.


Job description:


  • Lead on all Orgs and Structures activity to ensure that our HR and Payroll system accurately reflects the Organisational Structure.
  • Embed position management principles within the organisation and lead change management initiatives to build organisational capability around position management.
  • Provide expert advice and leadership to our operational support team to ensure that core position management principles are applied in day to day staffing transactions on our HR and Payroll system. This will include coaching and upskilling the operational support team in all areas of position management / orgs and structures.
  • Carry out exception reporting and leading initiatives to take corrective action to ensure that our HR and Payroll system contains accurate orgs and structures data around position management and vacancy information. Providing assurance to stakeholders within HR and wider operations group (particularly finance and corporate service colleagues) that the data held in Workday and feeding other Corporate Service systems is robust and can be relied upon for workforce planning and finance foresting purposes.
  • Act as the escalation for position management issues, identifying trends and suggesting solutions / interventions for improvements such as guidance reviews, end user upskilling sessions or Workday configuration changes whilst providing excellent customer service to resolve queries.
  • Deliver bulk orgs and structures changes including organisational restructures, TUPE and COSOP changes to ensure that the org charts and staffing information is accurately reflected on our HR system.
  • Work with the operational team lead to continually review team performance against deadlines and SLAs, developing dashboards and reports to identify trends and enable team resource to be reprioritised against different work strands to meet various deadlines.

Person specification:


Essential Criteria

  • Experienced in building strong relationships and establishing yourself as a position management / Orgs and structures expert with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience of leading the improvement of an operational service.
  • Experience of leading change management initiatives to support user adoption and building organisational capability.
  • Proven experience of managing bulk reorganisations on a HR system.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of managing basic integration tools to load bulk data changes.
  • Experience of operating a SaaS HR system and an understanding of how this supports core HR functions.


Desirable criteria will only be assessed in the event of a tie situation, in order to make an informed decision.
