The post-holder will provide Executive Assistant (EA) support to Professor Shivaji Sondhi.
Professor Sondhi is the University's Wykeham Professorship of Physics, a Leverhulme International Professorship and the Tencent Chair of Theoretical Physics.
He was appointed in 2021 with the dual role of providing excellent research leadership within the Theoretical Physics sub-department and driving strategic developments within the Department of Physics to strengthen its international research standing.
This EA post is a new role which will support all aspects of Professor Sondhi's work.Tasks will include drafting correspondence and reports, coordinating complex logístical arrangements nationally and internationally, organising numerous events, lectures and meetings, and helping to manage financial and contractual processes.
The post-holder will also have specific responsibility for the day-to-day administration of Professor Sondhi's £5m Leverhulme International Professorship award (LIPS) including the provision of administrative support to researchers, students and academic visitors supported by the LIPS grant.

Take responsibility for the day to day management and monitoring of all expenditure on the grant, and their internal and external reporting status, ensuring that all administrative processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Support the recruitment of new LIPS post-doctoral research associates and graduates. Produce, design and maintain project websites and written materials and manage project events. The full duties for this post are listed in the below job description
You will need to have previous experience working as an EA or senior personal assistant in a large, complex organization.
_Either_ a science degree, sufficient to understand the nature of the work and build credibility with academics, researchers and funding bodies;
_or_ equivalent experience and evidence of ability to engage effectively with unfamiliar material. Experience of supporting financial and contract management processes and a high level of accuracy. Confident and proficient IT user and the ability to communicate effectively are also essential.
