Procurement Manager

At Fresh people we are currently recruiting for a Junior Buyer for our client a Fresh Produce Operation at their Food Service distribution business based in Leicester.

With a strong background in Buying or Procurement preferably within Fresh Produce or FMCG you will be responsible for sourcing predominantly fruit and vegetables, dairy and some dry goods with other buyers in the group from local growers and suppliers

The Person

Duties:

Ensure profitable, high quality procurement across a full range of Fresh Produce, Dairy, Frozen and Dry Goods
Maintain up to date knowledge of the market sector trends, competitor activity and product lines
Coordinate procurement in line with sales requirements and stock functions in a fast paced Just In Time environment
Working with various reports and analysis to improve the commercials of the business
Work with Operational and Admin staff to ensure accurate stock management
Support Sales and Customer Service with product knowledge, sourcing and commercial support
Ensure all tasks, processes and operations are carried out in a healthy, safe and environmentally acceptable manner, complying with all internal procedures and external standards and legislation
Maintain an uptodate knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act, Risk assessments, Pest control and Food Safety standards
Support the site to maintain its BRC accreditation

Salary:
£33,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

Leicester: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

Fresh Produce or

FMCG:
2 years (preferred)
Junior Buying: 2 years (preferred)
Commercial Trading: 2 years (preferred)
