Overview:

Required as soon as possible, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, compassionate and resilient Team Leader.


This role will involve supporting with the monitoring of teaching and learning within the school by working with a small group of teachers within the school to develop their practice.

About us:


Booker Park is a member of the Vale Federation of Special Schools together with the secondary provision and post 16 students based at Stocklake Park School.

With 239 pupils on roll, Booker Park School caters for primary aged children with a broad diversity of complex needs including profound and multiple, severe and moderate learning difficulties.

Almost half of the pupils have an additional diagnosis of an autistic spectrum condition.

We look for all our young people to be successful learners enabling them to achieve their potential in a caring and supportive environment.

We are fortunate enough to have wonderful facilities including two large halls, a computer suite, hydrotherapy pool, soft play room, an observational mirror room, dark room and sensory theatre.

We have purpose built outdoor spaces including a MUGA (multi use games area), climbing castle, pirate ship and sensory path which are available to all pupils.


About the role:


Reporting to the Leadership Team, this role will ensure there is rigorous monitoring, evaluation & development of the methods used in teaching within the age range and specialism of teaching and learning by carrying out weekly/fortnightly drop-ins into classes.

You will be expected to attend a fortnightly teaching and learning focused meeting lasting one hour after school with the extended leadership team and complete termly summaries for classes within the team which are shared with individual class teachers and the extended leadership team.


Other responsibilities include carrying out regular wellbeing 'check-ins' with all staff within the team and monitor the use of Evidence for Learning across the team.

In order to carry out this role you will enjoy working with students who have special educational needs, have an appreciation of the positive attitudes required to encourage independence in our students together with high expectations and respect towards students, common sense, warmth and a sense of humour.
