This is a job share positionThe two positions are:
1. Monday to Friday 8.00am - 2.30pm and Saturday 8.00am - 4.00pm (total 37.5 hours)
2. Monday to Friday 2.15pm - 7.15pm and Sunday 9.00am - 3.00pm (total 28 hours)
Both positions are term time only plus extra hours during the holidays as required.
Working during the Summer and Easter holidays is essential.
The Catering Department
The School manages the catering provision from a centrally located, purpose built historic Dining Hall which also houses the main kitchen, stores and office.
The Catering Department is a busy, 7 day operation.Lunch is served to all pupils and staff during term time and breakfast and tea is served to all boarding pupils and staff.
The department also serves lunch to the Nursery and Infants in their own building.Mondo's is a popular bistro café within the campus which serves meals, snacks and drinks to students throughout the day. The venue is also used for functions, children's parties and other School events.
Out of term time there is a growing demand for accommodation and facilities which are let to outside companies and we run a very popular Summer School.
Main responsibilities
Operational
- To supervise the day to day running of Mondo's.
- Interact with customers whilst the café is open and provide excellent customer service.
- Operate a customer feedback system that allows constructive feedback to be gathered and suggestions to be implemented if practically or financially possible.
- Liaise with the Director of Sixth Form regarding ideas to move towards a more environmentally friendly and sustainable operation
- Marketing the café to the pupils, staff and parents, internally and externally.
- Ordering stock for the café through the Catering department. Stock rotating and stock taking.
- Liaising with the Senior Catering Manager to ensure the smooth running of all functions and other School events where Mondo's is required.
- Ensure that all areas are spotlessly clean at all times and that appropriate cleaning schedules are in place, completed and archived.
- To liaise with the Health & Safety Manager to ensure all health and safety requirements are met.
Food
- To ensure the food served is of the highest quality and served within Health and Safety parameters and allergen laws.
Other
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection, relating all concerns to the appropriate person.
- Be aware of and support difference and ensure equal opportunities for all
- Appreciate and support the role of other professionals
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings and training as required
- Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required
- To undertake any related activities or duties from time to time
- Undertake evening and weekend work as required
