Description
Our client, a maritime training provider based in Glasgow are looking for a Survival Instructor.You will be responsible for the delivery of emergency response-based training programs, aimed at the Offshore Oil & Gas, Maritime and Renewables Industries.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
Essential
- Knowledge of industry training standards & associations (OGUK, OPITO, STCW, IADC, APi etc.)
- Understanding of Instructional techniques and process of training delivery
- Knowledge of safety cultures within our industries
- Ability to adapt to industry changes
- Able and willing to work to flexible schedules/ shifts and commit the time required to get the job done
- Communication skills
- PC Literate with knowledge of MS systems
- Disclosure check required with this position
Desirable- A1 Assessor or equivalent. Experience of delivering training courses to large groups of delegates Experience in working at height instructing and/or operationally Possess occupational expertise in roles related to relevant Industries Diving Qualification to PADI Dive Master, HSE Part 2 or equivalent Crane operator experience (overhead) Previous experience in a similar role Experience in rigging, slinging or banksman training Worked offshore /at sea or delivered training in this environment First Aid qualified A full UK driving licence (preferred)
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Delivering industryapproved courses (OPITO, STCW, GWO, & Bespoke events).
- Supervising delegates during practical inwater, basic fire, first aid and lifeboat training.
- Carrying out delegate competency assessments against the required course criteria.
- Attending periodical operational meetings.
- Managing your weekly training schedule, set by the Lead Instructor.
- Promoting a positive safety culture around the worksite.
- Maintain and update courses to meet approval standards, following the Company's process and systems such as ISO 9001 but not limited to.
- Primarily involved with Survival & HSE based courses, you would be also expected to support the demands of Fire and Marine based programs.
- Occasional travel as required.
- Always maintain the confidentiality of the Company and adhere to the principles of the Data Protection Act 1998
- Ensure the appropriate standards of Health and Safety are adhered to
- Adhere and comply with all company standards, in line with ISO, OPITO, GWO, MNTB and MCA accreditations.
- You may be asked from time to time be asked to undertake other tasks that are relevant to your position
