Quality Inspector - Cardiff, United Kingdom - Engineered Performance Coatings Ltd

PURPOSE To work closely with production, engineering, sales and customers when applicable, and be responsible for the final inspection, random in-process inspection and qualification of thermal spray coating process.

SCOPE The position works within the Quality Department but will require a liaison with all other departments to ensure responsibilities are carried out effectively.

• To approve finished products by confirming specifications, and by conducting visual and measurement tests.

• To approve in-process production by performing random inspections, confirming required specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests and communicating any required changes to the production supervisor/manager.
• When required, to carry out preparation of laboratory samples and evaluation of coatings with following testing tools: optical microscope, microhardness machine, Rockwell hardness, bend test apparatus.
• When required, to approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests.
• To be actively involved in the non-conforming product process - to raise, help investigate root cause analyses, and complete NCR's where applicable.
• Liaising with customers in relation to quality issues, when required.
• To maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures, rules and regulations.
• To work within the Company's quality, health and safety and environmental management systems at all times.
• To conserve resources by only using the equipment and consumables which are required to complete each job to the required standard.
• To complete all production and quality documentation as instructed.
• To undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time.

• Have excellent English language skills in both reading and writing in order to report findings internally and when necessary communicate with customers.
• Must be very observant and detail orientated, with a logical approach to work.
• Have effective communication skills to enable to communicate with all factory staff and management.

• Must be honest and remain objective. Inspector maybe pressured either directly or indirectly and must stand by their opinion and remain objective.

• Able to understand requirements and specifications and be able to use measurement equipment to validate the requirements.
