    About the role


    This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and proactive individual to join our Business Development & Marketing (BD&M) team on a six‑month fixed‑term contract. The BD&M assistant will support in the delivery of the firm's marketing and business development strategy.

    The ideal candidate will be a team player with a keen interest in professional services marketing, possess excellent organisational skills, and take a proactive and flexible approach to their work. They will have exceptional communication skills, a strong sense of curiosity, and the ability to take ownership of responsibilities while working effectively under pressure.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assisting with the production and distribution of internal and external marketing communications and materials.
    • Supporting the coordination and preparation of directory and award submissions.
    • Helping with both in‑person and virtual event management, including logistics and follow‑ups.
    • Maintaining and updating website and intranet pages.
    • Researching new business development and marketing opportunities.
    • Sourcing and purchasing branded merchandise and other marketing‑related items where required.
    • Attending meetings, taking minutes, and circulating actions.
    • Conducting research related to various areas of the firm's business and BD objectives.
    • Providing support on ad‑hoc projects and initiatives across the BD & Marketing team as well as the wider firm.
    • Supporting data entry and data cleansing projects to ensure accuracy across internal systems.
    • Building and improving on existing administrative processes.

    Person specification

    • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to form good working relationships.
    • Good organisational skills to enable you to manage your own workload, completing tasks in line with set deadlines.
    • A proactive, helpful attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.
    • Strong IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
    • A sense of humour and a flexible team‑oriented approach.
    • A strong desire to learn and develop within a professional services environment.
    • Pro‑active, helpful and willing, with a "can do" attitude.
    • Someone who is curious to learn and develop.
    • Adaptable with excellent attention to detail.
    • Courteous and efficient.
    • Professional and conscientious, taking pride in doing the job well.

    Potential for further opportunities


    Upon successful completion of the fixed‑term contract, there may be an opportunity to enrol in the firm's Business Services Apprenticeship Programme (dependent on performance and business needs). This would build on the foundation created in the BD&M assistant role in areas such as Compliance, People & Culture and Innovation.
