Head of Software - Manchester (Hybrid remote) £80k - £100k + 20% bonus & car allowance
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Software Manager or Head of Development, to work in quite a unique industry, leading established development teams in the delivery of
globally utilised, multifaceted airport management systems.
Working on a
hybrid remote basis out of
Manchester (1-2 days a week in office), this Head of Software role is offering a very attractive package of £80k - £100k + 20% bonus, car allowance and 11% pension.
THE ROLE:
You will be heading up solution delivery and advising on matters of design, architecture, enhancement, optimisation, implementation, and integration, as well as seeking out and driving continuous improvements (process etc.).
- Working with the CTO and other HOD's to define the roadmap.
- Ensure development teams are delivering high quality product and platform functionality.
- Provide oversight on all aspects of the software engineering life cycle from planning / resourcing to technical implementation.
- Provide direction to the wider delivery team on the optimal approach for implementation of solutions.
- Review functional & technical specifications, providing feedback to Architects.
- Act as a bridge between development and other departments
- Drive Continuous Improvement in People, Product & Process

REQUIREMENTS:
Essential
- Experience leading / managing software development teams.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Object-Oriented Programming experience, ideally with PHP 7/
- Good understanding of Software design patterns
- CI/CD or DevOps environment experience
- AWS development, including DynamoDB, Lambda
- Confident communication skills
- Microservices Architecture
- Infrastructure as Code
- Event Driven Architectures
