Description

Fixed Term contract - Start date 1st June 2023, end date 31st May 2025

(With the potential for an extension until 31st of May 2027)

The Centre for E-Mobility and Clean Growth is looking for a Research Fellow to work as part of a team delivering a Horizon Europe project.

This role will support an ambitious research initiative with multiple international partners, focused on producing smart and self-healing cells. A particular focus will be developing smart communications using hybrid powerline communication and radio. The work will also involve the development of novel instrumentation for in-situ cell monitoring.

Under the line management supervision and guidance of Dr Joe Fleming, and in close collaboration with project partners, you will contribute to research and consultancy activity, and prepare reports and deliverables within the project.

In addition, you will gain valuable exposure to the Centre's research, including the submission of funding bids with support from your line manager.

In return, we will provide you with a great range of benefits, which include an attractive pension scheme, a very generous holiday allowance, savings on a wide range of products and services, and excellent learning and development opportunities.

E-Mobility research takes place in the Centre for Advanced Low-carbon Propulsion Systems (C-ALPS), a £50m research centre established to partner with the propulsion system supply chain and accelerate the progression to carbon-zero transport.

The Centre works across the automotive, aerospace, marine and rail industries to support the creation of cleaner mobility and to help develop the supply chain so that it can deliver these rapidly developing 'enabling' technologies.
