_Marriott Hotel Cardiff has an exciting opportunity for dynamic and passionate apprentices to join their Food and Beverage Department working predominantly with banqueting and conferences whilst achieving a L2 Food and Beverage Services frameworks qualification.

You will need to be enthusiastic and hardworking and ready to contribute towards the perfect customer experience.

40 hours per week, various shifts.

As part of our Conference and Banqueting team, you will be responsible for:

  • Working in the conference suite.
  • Working on events as part of the set up and/or clear down teams or servicing the events.
  • Working as part of our events operational team to deliver outstanding memories on the most unique of occasions.
  • Delivering exceptional guest experiences and actively ensuring guests expectations are met and any queries answered.
  • Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests.
  • Set tables according to type of event and service standards.
  • Answer questions on menu selections.
  • Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, recook orders, and product availability.
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
  • Record transaction in MICROS system at time of order.
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day. Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc. Present physical and accurate check to guest and process payment.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.

As an Apprentice you will be included on a Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship. Your qualification will be delivered by Inspiro Learning who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship.

This will involve a Regional Trainer coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.
