The job itself:


A vacancy has arisen for a Groundsperson Level - Chargehand, responsible for the maintenance of Council parks and open spaces.

You will be required to prepare sport fields and carry out the general maintenance of parks and open spaces.

This will include the white lining of sports pitches, replacing turf, erecting goal posts, maintaining surrounding hedgerows & shrubbery etc.


In addition to using a ride-on mower the successful applicant will from time to time be required to carry out grass mowing using a tractor and gang mower.

You will also be required to provide support to our grounds teams working at our cemeteries and closed churchyards and our rural verge mowing teams.

You must hold a driving licence as you will be required to travel to sites.
