About the role

Are you looking for an exciting new campaigns role? Would you like to help deliver a groundbreaking new campaign to change attitudes to ageing? We are looking for a talented and proactive Campaigns Officer to help plan and deliver our new, public-facing campaign - the country's first to tackle ageism.

The role is maternity cover for approximately one year.

Working within a small and highly focused team, the role will support the day-to-day management and delivery of the campaign working closely with colleagues and external agencies.

It will have a particular focus on working with our network of campaign Champions - people with lived experience of ageism and challenging ageist stereotypes.

The role will also support wider projects and workstreams that help to achieve the campaign's objectives to make people think, feel and act differently about ageing.

This includes supporting the planning and delivery of our annual campaign Action Day, helping with the production of campaign materials (guides, toolkits etc.) and working on specific projects to raise awareness of ageism and influence policy and practice in different sectors and parts of society.

The role will also play a key role in communicating campaign updates across our organisation and teams, ensuring an integrated approach across our wider work.

About you
You will be a highly organised, proactive and can-do individual who thrives on team working in a fast-paced environment.

You will be excited about the prospect of working on a new campaign to tackle ageist attitudes and will have previous experience in a campaigns role.

You will be able to take on tasks and run with them, with excellent time management skills and attention to detail.

You will have strong communications skills, including writing and presenting.

You will also be brilliant at managing relationships internally and externally, with a particular interest in working with people with lived experience of an issue and supporting them to get involved in campaign activity.

About us
The Centre for Ageing Better is a charitable foundation funded by The National Lottery Community Fund and part of the government's What Works Network

Everyone has the right to a good life as they get older and our whole society benefits when people are able to age well.

But far too many people face huge barriers, and as a result are living in bad housing, dealing with poverty and poor health and made to feel invisible in their communities and society.

The Centre for Ageing Better is pioneering ways to make ageing better a reality for everyone.

Its key areas of work include challenging ageism and building a nationwide Age-friendly Movement, creating Age-friendly Employment and Age-friendly Homes.

We are striving to create an organisation that reflects our society and the communities we serve. A workplace where everyone feels empowered and where diversity of background and thought is celebrated.

We know there is more work to be done and are committed to continuing to improve our practice around Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.
