What will you be doing?


The role of Category Manager will be to support the National Supply Chain Manager in delivery of agreed objectives in lines with the procurement strategy.

Providing a commercial procurement category management function for multiple categories of this company'sexpenditure.

Ensure savings and deadlines are met and appropriate contractual terms secured, across designated categories.

This role does not have any direct line reports but does require the ability to lead cross functional teams on strategic sourcing.

The category / categories for this role are general indirect spend.


You will establish, build and maintain positive relationships with all key stakeholders to enable the regional & selected category strategy to be effectively implemented and maintained, delivering the annual regional plan, with regard to savings, service,spend under management and supplier rationalisation, ensuring all Supply Chain policies, procedures and processes are followed.


Building an external network of benchmarks, you will ensure that industry-leading solutions are sought and implemented, creating an environment where cross fertilisation of ideas and opportunities within the region (P&C, Industrial, Water) is achieved.


What are we looking for?

  • Demonstrated experience of achieving significant savings, both through major initiatives and continuous improvement.
  • Good stakeholder management skills at all levels.
  • Good ability to develop relationships and challenge difficult stakeholders.
  • Undertaking multiple concurrent strategic sourcings in complex matrix organisations.
  • Knowledge and experience of Vendor management: including experience of vendor monitoring & management.
