Description

The Criminal Justice Liaison and Diversion Service provides mental health assessments and advice to Dorset Police custody suites, Magistrates' Courts and people asked by the Police to attend a voluntary interview.

The service operates a shift pattern, 7 days a week of 7am -7pm and 8am - 4pm and the successful applicant will be expected to work flexibly.

We will try to match your base with your home location but you will be expected at times to work across the county.

Employment with the Service is dependent upon the applicant passing the police advanced vetting process.

You will work in the Police custody suites in Bournemouth and Weymouth as well as voluntary attendance centres across the county.

The service works with people of all ages within the health and justice system where potential mental health and/or learning disability need is suspected and further assessment is indicated to inform disposal of the case and to identify robust care pathways.

Your work will involve close partnership working with both statutory and voluntary sector agencies and with a complex and diverse range of individuals with varying needs and vulnerabilities.

At Dorset HealthCare we're on a mission to empower people to make the most of their lives through our outstanding, joined-up healthcare services.

We're a dynamic, forward looking Trust, running 12 community hospitals, specialist inpatient facilities and a wide range of integrated community and mental health services for a population of almost 800,000 people.
