Volunteer to help Sue Ryder to be there when it matters.

About us

Our large furniture Sue Ryder charity shop is situated in the Cloisters Shopping Centre and located close to Market Square, which on Thursday, Saturdays and Sundays is a busy hub of activity in the shadow of the magnificent Ely Cathedral.

There are two large free car parks both short and long-stay.

We have a large selection of good quality donated and new goods that will do just the job. We also stock well-known furniture brand names at competitive prices.

Come and join our friendly helpful team of volunteers.

About you

Support our shop behind the scenes, back of house, sorting donations, getting things ready for sale and making sure the shop is kept stocked and ready for our customers.

How you'll benefit

  • Join a friendly team & make new friends
  • Gain confidence & customer service skills
  • Get valuable retail experience & enhance your CV
  • Receive discounted donated goods and travel expenses
  • Give back to your community
  • Support people through the most difficult times of their lives

You will also be helping us to inspire communities to provide more care for more people through innovating and collaborating on ways to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Full training will be provided, and travel at a reasonable local rate can be reimbursed for shifts of four hours or more, as agreed with the local manager.

How much time does the role take up?

Volunteering is flexible and can be a regular morning or afternoon. You can opt for weekdays, weekends, or as and when you are available.

Why not arrange a taster session?

You can register your interest in volunteering online or directly in store. You can have a no-obligation taster session in your chosen shop.
