About the role


The Head of Strategy and New Markets role will work across the organisation to guide, challenge and provide practical support in the development of Energy Supply UK's Strategy and explore new market opportunities in fields such as Hydrogen and Biomethane, supporting the delivery of our vision to be the leading renewable energy supplier providing tailored customer solutions.

ENGIE are recruiting for a Head of Strategy and New Markets to be based in Leeds. This is a permanent role, working full time Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.


Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the development and evolution of Energy Supply UK's corporate strategy
  • Communicating our strategy across the business to key stakeholders
  • Understanding and addressing key strategic issues and opportunities, working in collaboration across multiple functions and channels, often in a consultative manner
  • Collaborating with other Department Heads as well as wider Business platforms across Engie in gaining their input into strategic direction and ensuring good overall Strategic Alignment
  • Explore new market opportunities and develop strategic plans to help the business grow in these new areas.
  • To develop and implement strategic tools, driving consistency of usage and evaluation within Energy Supply UK
  • You will gather and organise data from a variety of information sources, including internal stakeholders and external experts, clients and partners, distilling this complex information into simple yet intelligent stories that engages, inspires and helps to mobilise the business
  • Providing insight and support to address key strategic issues and opportunities, working in collaboration across multiple functions and channels, often in a consultative manner

Key Requirements

  • Experience of planning, organising, controlling, developing and directing strategic activities including multidisciplinary areas of work which are complex and/or diverse and of delivering outcomes against agreed objectives.
  • Experience of working in the Energy sector is desirable but not essential
  • Outstanding track record at of contributing to corporate and cross organisational business strategy.
  • Demonstrable excellent and effective influencing and negotiating skills and political judgement with proven success in building productive professional relationships and partnerships with a wide range of organisations and structures.
  • Strong communicator and confident working with all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to work under pressure, to prioritise work, and to adhere to tight deadlines while maintaining quality
