Who we are looking for


Jani Homes is expanding to include residential care for children and young people aged , as part of our vision to provide quality support and care for some of the most vulnerable children and young people in our society.

A critical part of our vision includes the amazing people we employ and and we are looking for 9 highly empathetic, caring and skilled people to join Jani Homes as a Children's Residential Care Workers.

At its core, the role involves making sure young people feel safe, to provide the care, support and guidance our children and young people require from a home and ultimately, to prepare them with the skills and knowledge they require to progress into independent living.


The right people for our team have the ability to develop meaningful relationships with children and young people residing at Jani Homes and help them achieve positive outcomes through therapeutic care.

Who we are


Jani Homes has proudly supported young people aged 16+ from Nottinghamshire and further afield for 12 years through our semi-independent accommodation services.

We have numerous success stories that show what nurturing and supported accommodation can achieve for young people and we are very excited to continue our success through providing a quality residential care service.


Daily responsibilities

  • Keyworking young people in alignment with their care plans
  • Creating and maintaining an environment within the home which promotes unconditional positive regard for children and young people
  • Maintaining good professional practices in accordance with Ofsted Regulations and the Quality Care Standards for childrens homes
  • Engaging children and young people in meaningful activities both at the home and in the community
  • Motivating children and young people to achieve their set targets, to reach independence
  • Supporting and enabling children and young people to develop the life skills needed to live independently such as cleaning, cooking, money management etc
  • Cooking and cleaning
  • Maintaining accurate records of work undertaken
  • Carrying out and adhering to needs and risk assessments
  • Adhering to Jani Homes safeguarding policies & procedures at all times
This is not an exhaustive list.


You must be able to work 37 hours per week, covering a range of shifts, between the hours of 9am - 9pm, including overnight shifts, bank holidays and weekends.


Required skills and qualifications

Essential

  • A heart for helping children and young people to grow and achieve positive outcomes

Desirable

  • Minimum of 1 years relevant children's residential work/youth work/social work, probation/criminal justice or community work experience
  • Experience delivering care in accordance with Ofsted standards
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care, Health & Social Care or other relevant/equivalent qualification
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a car with business insurance is highly desirable
