The role


In this this role is you'll be working as part of the Selwood Housing group, ensuring our properties are maintained to the highest standards.

You'll be responsible for handling contract administration and management, offering guidance on program management, quality, design, and costs.

This includes preparing tender documents in compliance with CDM regulations to guarantee that all major programs and projects meet the necessary standards and provide the best value.


Our Planned Improvement Project surveyors oversee significant work programs throughout our housing stock, which includes refurbishing sheltered housing, replacing windows, roof replacement and addressing issues like historic damp and mould that require specialised surveys.

Your role will be crucial in ensuring our properties receive the care and attention they deserve.


Key Duties:


  • Undertaking procurement activities for new and existing contracts
  • Manage contractors input and outputs in completing works.
  • Check accuracy of invoices submitted by contractors to maximise cost efficiency.
  • Review and report on contractual and legal documentation, reports, design drawings and specifications including all external works and site wide elements.
  • Provide clear and honest communication with our customers and employ tact and diplomacy when explaining the services we provide to manage expectations appropriately

Experience

  • Contract management experience essential
  • Repairs and Maintenance experience essential
  • Reporting skills will be helpful to track targets and compare data for key performance indications
  • Procuring and management of major works projects from inception to completion

What we need
For this role you'll need to have the following skills and experience;

  • GCSE or 'O' Level standard (or equivalent) with grade C or above in English and Maths
  • HNC in Building or Surveying or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with maintenance management and/or construction management.
  • Strong understanding of managing contracts within budgetary constraints
  • Knowledge of computer systems in a maintenance environment
