Our client a well-established manufacturing company based in South Birmingham are seeking a Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) to join them on a permanent basis with a starting salary of up to £55,000 per annum dependent upon experience.

As HR Business partner you will be responsible for the following duties:


Role description:

You will support the delivery of the HR strategy, support positive employee relations, support the department and organisation as an employer of choice.

Key Objectives:


  • To deliver a professional people service at all stages of the employee lifecycle.
  • To ensure that policies and practices are consistent with prevailing law and best practice and where shortfalls exist work with the HRM to improve and provide pragmatic HR advice to all stakeholders.
  • Providing guidance on people practices such as restructures and succession planning in conjunction with the HRM
  • Bringing people expertise and developing solutions to help the business area to deliver its strategy in line with prevailing practices.
  • Coaching and providing feedback to key stakeholders in regard to managing people and engaging with employees.
  • To work with the local trade union representatives in terms of consultation processes (lead the JCC in conjunction with the manufacturing manager) to foster positive employee relations
  • Influencing and building relationships with people around the business
  • Acting as a local point of people expertise
  • Questioning and challenging others to get to the root of people and business issues

Drive improvements in diversity and employee engagement including driving wellness resource group activities to include community engagement

  • To manage the performance management processes at all levels of the organization, supporting the business in identification of training needs and working with stakeholders on solutions to bridge gaps.
  • To maintain practices in line with IIP Gold Standard

Technical skills / Educational background/Relevant experience:


  • Experience of working within a complex/matrix organisation desirable.
  • Experience or a strong desire to work within a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Can demonstrate using initiative and work alone and as part of a team.
  • Experience of working in a unionised environment.
  • Five years' experience in a HR Advisor capacity.
  • Ideally CIPD qualified.
  • Experience of working in areas such as recruitment, case handling, absence management, flexible working requests, family friendly policies, pension schemes etc.
  • Can demonstrate experience of improving employee engagement within current or previous roles (or a keen interest to learn)
  • Degree or equivalent level education desirable
  • CPD i.e. Employment Law
  • Strong computing skills Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to manipulate data and identify key trends.
