Felsted is a leading day and boarding independent school based in a stunning village campus in North Essex.

Founded in 1564 by Richard Lord Riche, who had been a Lord Chancellor under King Edward VI, Felsted today provides an exceptional holistic educationto approximately 1100 boys and girls aged four to eighteen.

We celebrated our 450th anniversary in 2014, one of only a handful of schools in the country that have claimed this historic milestone.

The Felsted IT Services team is a critical and integral part of the Felsted community as is the role of the Head of IT & Network Manager, which oversees the team and the management of the school's network infrastructure.

It is an exciting time to be joiningFelsted and the IT department, particularly as we embark on upgrading our network.


The main duties of the role are to be responsible for the management (design, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting), efficiency, effectiveness, and development of the school's network infrastructure and management information systems; to play a keyrole in safeguarding, cybersafety and security, and to be a key member of the Digital Empowerment Steering Group (DESG) and Procurement Team.

The Head of IT & Network Manager also plays a key role in the strategic and technical development of high qualityIT systems school-wide, both operationally and academically.

This role is a permanent position working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm, all-year round.

The post holder is required to work one Saturday per month during term-time and be on-call as per the department's out-of-hours rota.

The salary for this rolewill be competitive, reflecting the importance of the role, and dependent on skills, knowledge and experience.
