Assistant Planner - London
J. Murphy & Sons ltd.
are recruiting for an assistant Planner to join the water division of the buiness and assist with the management of the planning function on the Thanes AMP7 Framework including the production, updating and monitoring of construction programmes.
The role is 45 hours per week and will be based from our head office in North London (Kentish Town).

What you will be doing:
- Establish and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters in conjunction with the SHQE department.
- Assist the Project Planner as directed.
- Assist the Project Planner with evaluation of Project tender documents in order to build detailed tender programmes specifying time and resource requirements.
- Liaise with members of Tender Teams during the Tender process as required and assist with coordination of their input into planning matters.
- Development of tender programmes into construction programmes.
- Production of programmes throughout the duration of Projects.
- Coordination of input into the programme from the construction team.
- Review construction progress with input from the construction team, update programmes and produce reports as necessary under the Supervision of the Project Planner.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Attend site regularly to assist site teams with planning matters.
Who we're looking for
- Previous experience in the Construction Industry
- Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project
- Knowledge and use of Primavera planning software
About the Project
- Thames Water AMP7 is a 4year long framework (plus a possible 5 year extension into AMP8)
- Murphy is a Primary Contractor in Lot 5 North London Infrastructure, value £200m
- The framework will consist of the delivery of ECI, detailed design, build, commissioning and handover of water and wastewater infrastructure schemes Include individual projects up to £30m (majority will be less than £15m with average value of £ 7m)
- Design Partner in place
- Featuring repairs and build of new assets including water treatment plants, pump stations, sewers, pipeline, reservoirs and drainage.
