Billingham. This is a
full-time, permanent role,

Paralloy Ltd is situated in the UK and has 3 sites - Billingham, Middlesbrough, and Sheffield. The business has a worldwide presence and is a major supplier to the petrochemical market. About the Draughtsperson role:
As our Draughtsperson, you will produce fully engineered CAD drawings from client's drawings, sketches and bills of material.
You will also produce scale drawings for static castings in liaison with the Static Foundry Methods Engineer and be responsible for gaining customer acceptance of the first samples and ensuring that all relevant manufacturing instructions are communicated to the shop floor.
During the product life cycle, you will assist in process improvements and problem solving to optimise the product quality and advise on remedial actions when discrepancies occur.
Key responsibilities of our Draughtsperson will include:
- Being fully conversant with the latest CAD drawing tools
- Interpretation of client drawings into fully engineered drawings
- Liaising and interacting with the applicable project Contract Engineer to ensure all drawings are produced in a timely manner and reviewed accordingly
- Supporting the Quality Dept in the submission of new product validation documentations for customer approval
- Engineering change control and implementation during the product life cycle
- Controlling of product quality and provide feedback of nonconforming material to relevant production depts
- Developing improvement initiatives in line with lean manufacturing ideas
- Project planning
What we're looking for in our Draughtsperson:
Essential
- Experience working in product manufacturing, preferably related to large castings or forgings
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software
- Working knowledge of quality systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Can operate on own initiative but contribute to a team environment
- Qualification in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering to HND level
Desirable
- Centrifugal casting experience
- A general knowledge of metallurgy
- Qualification in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering to BSc level
